Injury Prevention Program
Why treat an injury when you can prevent it? Injury prevention is key for top level athletes and the art and science of injury prevention is something that we are passionate about. This program uses the latest research to help athletes decrease their risk of injury. Through specifically designed exercises and nutrition guidance the program targets high risk areas and helps build core and intrinsic muscle strength to significantly decrease your risk of injury and allow you to perform at your best.
Strength and Conditioning for Soccer Players
Strength training for soccer is different than strength training for other sports or just general strength training. A proper strength and conditioning program is not about performing static robotic like movements, such as classic squats or leg presses, that never occur in a game but rather dynamic sport specific exercises that build explosiveness and agility. This program involves a series of sport and soccer specific exercises that improve quickness, speed and agility thus turning one into a much more dangerous and explosive player.
Soccer Nutrition Counseling
Nutrition is just as, if not even more important, when it comes to maximising athletic performance and preventing injury. Learn about what type of foods to eat and supplements to take to feel and perform at your best.

Sports Injury Treatment
The most common types of sports injuries are strains, pulls, splints, and tears of the muscle, ligament, or tendon. After assessing the severity of the injury, a treatment plan will be tailored to each individual patient. Major sports injuries may require weeks to months of physical therapy and/or possibly surgery. Sports injuries may be prevented by having the proper equipment, using the proper techniques, and stretching before and after exercise. Here at MD Science of Sport, our experts are ready to advise for a treatment tailored to your specific sports injury.
Sports physicals are necessary yearly check-ups where a physician measures the fitness & health of the patient specific to the sport(s) in which they are participating in. At MD Science of Sport, Dr. Dehkordi not only reviews the patient’s medical history, but also consults and advises you of any potential risks involved. In addition, Dr. Dehkordi will perform a full body screening of the patient. Once the patient is cleared, they will be eligible and prepared to partake in sports activities. Joint injections are given to patients who show signs of inflammation in the joints. The inflammation can be caused by fluids accumulating in the joints, which can cause severe pain and swelling. The injection can either remove the fluid from the joint or it can deliver steroids to the affected area, alleviating your joints of pain. The steroid injection can relieve pain from several weeks to several months.

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Therapy
Platelet rich plasma therapy injections are given to patients with damaged or healing tissue to help speed up the injury recovery process. The therapy begins by drawing blood from the patient. The plasma is then separated from the blood, which increases the concentration of plasma by several fold. This platelet rich plasma is then injected into the affected area.
Here at MD Science of Sport, our physical therapy program consists of hands-on treatment, pain management, and patient education to prevent and/or manage injuries.
